• First made in 1922, Branston pickle is a pickled chutney filled with swede, carrots, onion and cauliflower. Often served with a Ploughman's lunch, Branston's is ideal as a spicy, tart counterpoint to all kinds of meat and cheese. Add a thick layer to a cheddar cheese sandwich. Do it now. Also available in a standard jar.
